Privacy Policy
Last updated 4 September 2026
This policy describes what Accountability Bros actually collects, why, who receives it, and how long it is kept. It was written from the application’s real data flows. Where the app collects something sensitive — alcohol consumption, body measurements, location — that is stated plainly rather than folded into a general category.
Accountability Bros is operated by Dinotics LLC. In this policy “we”, “us” and “our” mean Dinotics LLC.
1.Account and profile
| Collected | Email, password (hashed by our authentication provider — we never see it), display name, username, avatar image, unit preferences. |
|---|---|
| Why | To sign you in, and to let squad-mates and gym friends find you. |
| Seen by others | Your display name, username and avatar. |
| Retention | Until you delete your account. |
2.Workouts and check-ins
| Collected | Sessions, exercises, sets, weights, reps, RIR, personal records, your weekly split, and check-ins — including whether a check-in was late. |
|---|---|
| Why | Tracking, streaks, and the accountability feed. |
| Seen by others | Squad members see your check-ins. That is the point of the product, and it is by design. |
| Note | Sets logged without a connection are stored on your device and sent when one is available. |
3.Apple Health (iPhone and Apple Watch only)
| Collected | Steps, active energy, body measurements and workout data — only the types you authorise in the system prompt. |
|---|---|
| Why | So activity and body metrics fill themselves in instead of being typed. |
| Seen by others | Nobody. Health data is never shared with other users. |
| Turning it off | Revoke access in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health. That stops further collection; it does not delete what was already synced. Delete your account to remove that. |
4.Nutrition and body measurements
| Collected | Food entries, calories and macros, micronutrients, fluid intake, favourites, dietary preferences, goals, weight, height, birthday, and lab results if you enter them. |
|---|---|
| Why | Daily tracking against your goals. |
| Sent outside | Food search terms go to USDA FoodData Central; barcodes go to Open Food Facts. Neither receives your identity. |
| Seen by others | Only a nutritionist you explicitly share with, and only what that sharing grants. |
5.Alcohol and blood-alcohol estimates
This is the most sensitive category in the app and is treated separately for that reason.
| Collected | Drinks with timing and volume, blood-alcohol sessions, and the body weight and sex the estimate is calculated from. |
|---|---|
| Why | To estimate blood alcohol and time to sober. |
| Seen by others | Nobody. This is never shared with other users. |
| Important | The estimate is an estimate. It is not a medical or legal determination and must not be used to decide whether you are fit to drive. |
If you install the blood-alcohol complication on your Apple Watch face, the figure is visible whenever that watch face is visible. Installing it is the privacy decision; the app does not conceal it afterwards. On iPhone, the Lock Screen widget conceals the figure until the device is unlocked.
6.Location and gyms
| Collected | Your location at the moment you search for a gym or check in, your saved gyms, and the distance between a check-in and the gym. |
|---|---|
| Why | Finding gyms, matching gym friends at a shared gym, and flagging a check-in as suspicious when it is far from the gym. |
| Sent outside | Search coordinates go to Google Places, without your identity. |
| Seen by others | Squad members can see a roast based on that distance, which discloses roughly how far from the gym you were. |
| Not collected | Continuous background location. Location is read at the moment of a search or a check-in. |
If you record a run, the route is stored with your activity. Territory shows that a cell was claimed and whether it is yours — it never shows who else owns a cell, when they were there, or by what route.
7.Camera
The camera is used for barcode scanning, receipt scanning, and alarm missions (QR codes and exercise recognition). Camera frames are processed and discarded. No image file is written and none is uploaded. A QR code bound to an alarm is stored only as a salted hash, because waking you up needs to check equality and checking equality does not need the code itself.
Text read from a receipt is sent to an AI provider to be parsed into items. The image is not.
8.Messages and your social graph
| Collected | Squad messages, one-to-one Gym Friend messages, reactions, read receipts, GIF selections, squad membership, discoverability, blocks and reports. |
|---|---|
| Sent outside | GIF search terms go to KLIPY with a constant customer identifier — never your user id. |
| Moderation | Messages pass a server-side filter that refuses slurs, hate, explicit sexual harassment, credible threats and targeted abuse. It deliberately permits ordinary profanity and trash talk. It is a reviewed word list, not a comprehensive system. |
| Blocking | Blocking is mutual and is never disclosed to the person blocked. |
9.Alarms
Alarm times, mission configuration and completion are stored on your device only. They are never sent to our servers and are not shared with anyone. They are removed when you delete the alarm or remove the app.
10.Payments and subscriptions
Accountability Bros Pro can be bought on the web through Stripe, or on iPhone through Apple’s In-App Purchase.
| What we store | Which plan you are on, whether it is active, when it renews or lapses, and the provider's subscription identifier. We record billing events so entitlement stays correct through renewals, refunds and grace periods. |
|---|---|
| Card details | We never receive or store them. Stripe and Apple handle payment entirely. |
| Sent to Stripe | Your account identifier and, for a first purchase, your email address — so a subscription can be matched back to your account. |
| Sent to Apple | Nothing we send. Apple tells our server about the subscription's lifecycle using a signed notification. |
11.Support and feedback
When you send feedback or a bug report we receive the message, your app version and your device model, so a problem can be reproduced. When email delivery is configured, it is also emailed to us through Resend.
12.Sessions, devices and analytics
Staying signed in requires a session token, stored in the iOS Keychain or in a browser cookie. Your Apple Watch holds its own separate session. Widgets and complications read a small shared snapshot on the device.
Analytics. The website uses Vercel Analytics, which records page views and basic request information. There is no advertising SDK, no crash-reporting SDK, no third-party tracker in the iPhone or Apple Watch apps, and no data broker anywhere.
13.Who receives your data
| Supabase | Hosting, authentication, database and file storage. Receives everything stored, with your identity. |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Website hosting and analytics. |
| Stripe | Web payments. Account id and email. |
| Apple | App Store purchases and subscription lifecycle. |
| OpenAI | Prompts for AI recipes and drinks, and receipt text. Not your identity. |
| USDA · Open Food Facts · Google Places · KLIPY | Search terms, barcodes or coordinates. Not your identity. |
| Resend | Support email contents and your email address. |
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
14.Deleting your account
You can delete your account from within the app — Profile → Delete account on iPhone, or Settings on the web. Deletion removes your sign-in identity, your profile and your personal records, and clears the session on your Apple Watch and the data your widgets read.
Two things deliberately survive, and you should know about them before you delete:
- Messages you sent to a squad stay in that squad’s history, shown without an author, so the conversation other people took part in does not develop holes.
- Safety reports are kept with both identities removed, so a pattern of abuse cannot be erased by deleting an account.
One-to-one Gym Friend conversations are deleted for both people.
15.Your choices
- Apple Health and location access can each be revoked in iOS Settings at any time.
- Discoverability is opt-in — you choose whether other people can find your profile.
- You can block any user, and the block is never disclosed to them.
- You can delete your account in the app, without contacting us.
16.Children
Accountability Bros is intended only for people aged 18 or older. You must be at least 18 to create or use an account. The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
The drinks and blood-alcohol features are intended only for users who are also of legal drinking age where they live, which in some places is older than 18. Nothing in the app is an encouragement to drink.
Blood-alcohol values are shown on the website only; the iPhone and Apple Watch apps do not calculate or display them. Where shown, they are estimates, provided for informational purposes only. They must not be used to determine whether you — or anyone else — are safe to drive, to operate machinery, or to perform any other hazardous activity. See section 5.
17.Where your data is held, and your legal rights
Where it is held. Accountability Bros is operated from the United States. Your information may be stored and processed in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate — the providers listed in section 13, principally Supabase, which hosts the database, authentication and file storage, and Vercel, which hosts the website. Data-protection laws in those countries may differ from those where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, we use appropriate safeguards.
We do not promise that your data stays within any particular country or region. Where a provider offers a choice of region, that is a configuration of their service rather than a guarantee we make to you here.
Your privacy requests. Whoever you are and wherever you live, you can ask us for:
- access to the personal information we hold about you;
- correction of information that is inaccurate;
- deletion of your account and personal information.
You do not have to ask us to delete. You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, at any time — section 14 sets out exactly what that removes and the two things it deliberately keeps.
Depending on where you live, the law may give you further rights — for example data portability, restriction of processing, objection to processing, opt-out or limitation rights, and the right to appeal our decision or complain to your data-protection regulator. Where a privacy law applies to you and to your request, we will honour those rights and the response deadlines that law sets.
We may need to verify your identity before we act on a request, so that one person cannot obtain or delete another person’s information. We will ask only for what we need to be confident it is you.
How to make a request: email privacy@accountabilitybros.ai and say which request you are making. You can also use Profile → Feedback & Support in the iPhone app, or the form on our support page, if you would rather not send email.
This policy does not claim certification under, or general compliance with, any particular privacy framework, and we do not promise every user a response period borrowed from a law that does not apply to them. Saying otherwise without the process behind it would be a false statement, and this document does not make claims it cannot support.
18.Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that materially affects what is collected or who receives it, the date at the top will change and we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
